International Congress of the Polish Language and Culture

The Institute of Linguistics of the University of Szczecin invite to participate in the International Congress of the Polish Language and Culture, which will take place on September 22-24, 2021 in Szczecin, Poland.
The aim of the congress is to create a space for discussion around various aspects of the Polish language and culture, to exchange experience, and to integrate the researchers from the national and international research centres dealing with the Polish language.

Proposed topics for discussion:

– synchronic and diachronic aspects of the Polish language research,
– image of Poland and Poles in the Polish and foreign media,
– legacy of Polish emigrants and its reception in Poland and worldwide,
– Poles’ participation in the world culture, Poles’ international achievements,
– language of fiction in the old and contemporary perspective,
– reception of the old and contemporary Polish literature in the world,
– translation of the Polish literature into foreign languages ​​and of foreign literature into Polish,
– teaching Polish abroad and Polish as a foreign language in Poland,
– activity of Polish organizations abroad.

Languages of the conference: Polish, English

Abstract submission deadline: May 31st, 2021
The proposal should include: title of the paper, author’s name and surname, information about the represented institution, contact details (address, e-mail, phone number), abstract. The submission should be sent to the organisers’ e-mail address: mkjkp@usz.edu.pl.
The abstracts will be published on the conference website.

Decisions about acceptance of the papers: before June 11th, 2021

Deadline for payment of the conference fee: June 30th, 2021

The conference will be held in an on-site and remote form.

THE 1ST BIAŁYSTOK CONFERENCE ON THEORETICAL AND APPLIED LINGUISTICS

In recent years linguistic conferences organized by the Białystok circle of neophilologists have established a strong tradition in terms of providing a forum for the exchange of views on the nature of language. It all started almost fifteen years ago, in 2002. The main aim of the conferences was to provide a meeting ground for a wide range of scholars: linguists, literary scholars, foreign language teaching methodologists, to mention but a few groups of researchers participating in the events. The conferences explored the relationship between language, culture, and social interaction. They were often organized in co-operation with French language scholars.

Fourth International Communication Styles Conference

Communication Styles conference is the fourth in the series of biannual conferences which were initiated in 2013 and took place in Krosno in Poland. So far  the conferences have a publication record with a collection of articles entitled Culture’s Software: Communication Styles (Cambridge Scholars 2015), a special issue of the Styles of Communication journal (9:1; 2017) and an issue of Tertium Linguistic Journal (3.1; 2018).
