Migrations in the Slavic Cultural Space
The Department of Slavic Philology at the University of Łódź and the Institute of History in Belgrade are delighted to invite you to participate in the International Scientific Conference entitled ‘Migrations in the Slavic cultural space’, which will be held on 6 May 2022.
Considering the vast array of possible themes that may be proposed by the speakers, the organisers suggest focusing on the following:
1. Migrations and Slavic multiculturalism
2. Memory of migration, migrations of memory
3. Literature of emigration and literary relations
4. Processes of Slav assimilation
5. Issues of identity and self-identification in a post-immigration reality
6. Ethnic and confessional conflicts arising from migration
7. Slavic diasporas
8. Current trends in research on migration
9. Travel accounts and memoirs
10. Slavic cultural transgressions
11. Digitisation of migration certificates
Due to the unstable epidemiological situation, the conference will be held remotely on the ClickMetting or Teams platform.
Duration of conference talks: 20 minutes.
Conference languages: Polish, English, Serbian and Russian.
Applications for the conference should be submitted by 18 April 2022 to the following e-mail address: konferencja.migracje@filologia.uni.lodz.pl.
Information on the acceptance of an application, after prior qualification by the conference’s Organising Committee, will be sent by 22 April 2022.
Papers for the post-conference volume should be sent by 1 June 2022.
Participation in the conference is free of charge. The organisers predict that the conference papers of 20,000 to 40,000 characters (including spaces) will, having been reviewed positively, be published in a multi-author monograph by a publishing house from the ministerial list.

Fourth International Communication Styles Conference
Communication Styles conference is the fourth in the series of biannual conferences which were initiated in 2013 and took place in Krosno in Poland. So far the conferences have a publication record with a collection of articles entitled Culture’s Software: Communication Styles (Cambridge Scholars 2015), a special issue of the Styles of Communication journal (9:1; 2017) and an issue of Tertium Linguistic Journal (3.1; 2018).
