Poetyka pisarstwa podróżniczego

Numer zatytułowany „Poetyka pisarstwa podróżniczego” zachęca do przedyskutowania efektów narastającego zainteresowania twórczością literacką zapisującą doświadczenia podróży dla badań poetologicznych. Mnogości współczesnych zapisów doznań i form podróży towarzyszą krytyczne przeglądy stanu badań nad tego typu tekstami oraz próby ich odmiennego ujęcia.

Dominujący w studiach nad pisarstwem podróżnicznym paradygmat studiów kulturowych propagował czytanie tego rodzaju dzieł jako narracji pośród innych narracji na temat danego miejsca czy przestrzeni. Zachęcało to oczywiście do uruchamiania pojęć i narzędzi typowych dla poetyki kulturowej. Jak współczesne badania literackie wykraczają poza ten horyzont poznawczy i wprowadzają zmiany do silnie tekstualistycznego i interpretacjonistycznego rozumienia pisarstwa podróżniczego? Jakich nowych pojęć używają, na jakie wymiary zapisu podróżniczego wskazują, jakie perspektywy poetologiczne otwierają?

Z pewnością na przekształcenie postrzegania pisarstwa podróżniczego mają wpływ nowe współczesne doświadczenia dyslokacji, gdzie wyjazd turystyczny przestał stanowić podróż prototypową, a „postturysta” nie jest już postacią centralną. Jakie teksty dawne i współczesne oraz jakie ich cechy, zwłaszcza poetologiczne, zwracają dziś uwagę? Jak współczesna filologia uwzględnia nieturystyczność wielu zapisanych w tekstach przeżyć podróżniczych?

The editors of the bilingual internet magazine Forum of Poetics (published in both Polish and English) invite authors to submit texts to the magazine's ninth issue.
This issue, entitled “The Poetics of Travel Writing,” seeks to encourage in-depth discussion of the consequences for poetological studies of the increasing interest in literary works describing travel experiences. The wide multiplicity of records documenting forms and experiences of travel is here to be met by critical views of the state of scholarship on texts of this type and attempts to grapple with their various conceptualizations.
The cultural studies paradigm which has been dominant in studies of travel writing has propagated the practice of reading such works as narratives among other narratives on the subject of a particular place or space. This has obviously encouraged the mobilization of concepts and tools typical for cultural poetics. How are contemporary literary studies moving beyond that cognitive horizon and making changes to its intensely textualist and interpretationist understanding of travel writing? What new concepts are they using, toward what dimensions of the travel document do they point, and what poetological perspectives are they opening up?
There can be no doubt that new experiences of dislocation in our age are impacting the transformation of how travel writing is perceived, since the tourist trip has ceased to represent the prototype of travel, and the contemporary “post-tourist” is no longer a central character. What older and contemporary texts and aspects, especially poetological ones, of those texts, are drawing our attention now? How does contemporary literary scholarship treat the non-touristic nature of many of the travel experiences recorded in these texts?
