The semi-annual "Świat i Słowo" ("World and Word") started coming out in 2003. It is an academic journal publishing texts from humanities and social sciences. Individual issues are normally monographic in their character, each presenting a topic common for all texts from various research perspectives.
The journal publishes texts in Polish and in English, and their full versions are available on the journal's website, on the archive page as well as in the following databases: Web of Science, Central and Eastern European Online Library (CEEOL), The Central European Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (CEJSH), ERIH plus as well as Bazhum. The journal is also indexed in the Index Copernicus International database.
The most recent parametrisation performed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education awarded the journal 20 points.
