Pismo skupia badaczy literatury i kultury popularnej krajów słowiańskich. Jest rozwinięciem i kontynuacją serii wydawniczych Fantastyczność-Cudowność wydawanej na Uniwersytecie Zielonogórskim w latach 2009-2014 oraz Mitologizacje kultury wydawanych w latach 2013-2016.
„International Journal of Slavic Studies Transgressive, Pragmatic and Speculative Horizons of Popular Literature and Culture” jest rocznikiem wydawanym przez Instytut Filologii Polskiej na Wydziale Humanistycznym Uniwersytetu Zielonogórskiego. Jest to szerokotematyczne, specjalistyczne i interdyscyplinarne czasopismo naukowe ukazujące się w wersji elektronicznej, w otwartym dostępie, na licencji CC BY 3.0 PL.
Zasadniczą przestrzenią badawczą wyznaczającą kierunek publikacji w tym periodyku są literatura i kultura popularna krajów słowiańskich: ich odrębność i indywidualne cechy wyróżniające, wynikające z cech języka, folkloru, tradycji kulturalnej, historii a także polityki. Ze względu, zarówno, na samą specyfikę obszaru badawczego w wymiarze globalnym oraz jego społeczne i polityczne uwarunkowania. Pismo przyjmuje politykę wydawniczą zakładającą kilka przestrzeni badawczych jakie będę prezentowały publikowane na jego łamach artykuły.

A Generic History of Travel Writing in Anglophone and Polish Literature offers a comprehensive, comparative and generic analysis of developments of travel writing in Anglophone and Polish literature from the Late Medieval Period to the twenty-first century. These developments are depicted in a wider context of travel narratives written in other European languages. Grzegorz Moroz convincingly argues that, for all the similarities and cross-cultural influences, in the course of the nineteenth and twentieth century non-fiction Anglophone and Polish travel writing have dynamically evolved different generic horizons of expectations. While the Anglophone travel book developed relatively steadily in that period, the Polish genre of the podróż was first replaced by the listy (kartki) z podróży, and then by the reportaż podróżniczy.
